Passion = Mission

I have been thinking about passion recently. I believe passion must be a part of mission. To be misisonal, one must be passionate. When we are passionate about the message of Jesus, and passionate about people, we are going to be missional and we are going to be unstoppable!

In Matthew 11:12, we see Jesus speaking to a crowd about John. About him He said, "From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing..." To live a life of such passion the mission of God is going to be advanced, much like it was in the days of John the Baptist, not to mention the early church, that we read about in Acts. A life lived with such passion, makes the Gospel of Jesus irresistible to the world around.

At a seminar I was at recently, Chap Clark discussed how A passionate ministry becomes unstoppable when it connects itself to the unstoppable Kingdom of God. Values of the Kingdom that we must embrace are:

•Truth and Justice
•Grace and Mercy
•Sharing and Demonstrating Christ's love for the world

Imagine if we lived our lives with such a passion. What would the church look like if we lives such lives? What would the world look like if we lived such lives?

May we pursue such a life.
